Evergreen Sporthorses
Our goal is to produce a small number of high quality Warmblood and Arabian Warmblood horses with superior temperament, conformation, movement and bone, with the highest priority being a trainable temperament. We believe in quality rather than quantity and confine our breeding to a limited number of foals per year. We are breeding horses of the highest quality and potential for dressage, jumping and eventing and which are suitable for the serious amateur rider as well as professional riders. The majority of our sales stock are bred from our own stallion - Snowview Jamieson and a small number of well bred mares. This provides clients the opportunity to meet both the parents and have a chance to assess the qualities of temperament and trainability, which are clearly demonstrable in the stallion and mares and are unmistakably inherited by the progeny. We also use Australian based stallions with similar qualities that are accessible if clients want to visit them. We have added the beautiful Welsh Cob (C) stallion – Snowdon Vale Saloman for clients interested in Pony Dressage. We have chosen not to use imported semen as we believe that, although there are certainly many wonderful stallions available, it is important to many of us to be able to assess the parents of horses that are to be our partners in our life and our sport for many years. The time, effort, money and angst that are expended in our life with horses means that the choice should be well considered. The presence of the stallion and dam and the opportunity to spend some time with them makes that choice a little easier. There are also so many imported or well-bred stallions in Australia now that we have a terrific base for Australian bred horses. to diet – including vitamin, mineral and protein requirements;
foot care – ensuring correct trimming from birth to ensure
straight strong legs and good quality feet; correct dental care;
adequate feed, water, sun and shade; regular worming and vaccination;
and adequate, appropriate handling as foals followed by groundwork
training as they mature. You are invited to visit our stud and see
that all the horses have well trimmed and balanced feet, are well
grown with shiny coats and a bright eye and that they are all people
friendly. The qualities we are striving to produce are evident in
